On November 1 2007 Tyne and Wear Pallets Ltd was formally re-branded as TWP Packaging LTD. The change was a well devised strategy as for some considerable time the old name did not truly reflect - the company's growth - its products - or the place it had earned in the marketplace.

The very nature and success of TWP, over many years, and our position as a leader in the packaging industry has naturally led to this change and whilst we are pleased to have our UK base in the very vibrant North East the very name Tyne & Wear Pallets did not reflect the huge developments that had taken place over the last few years, particularly those in the global market.

Wooden pallets of course are a major part of TWP's product lines but the extremely successful launch in 2007 of the new Packing Case Product Division, for example, identified quite clearly that the name 'pallets' does not encompass our full product offering.

The name change has been more significant - global in fact. During the last few years intensive work has resulted in the opening of a manufacturing plant in China that is now in production of pallets. This is just the first of a number of developments outside the UK that will bring massive benefits to our customers. The company hopes that custoemrs will agree that the brand change brings an exciting facet to the business but it also truly highlights the strength of the company and its continued growth.
